A little about me

My 20 year career in advertising has set me up perfectly to write about people.

Normal everyday people, living lives that swing between the ordinary, the bizarre, the beautiful, heartbreaking and bent over double laughing.

If you want superhero’s and car chases i’m probably not your man. If you want an overheard conversation at Greggs, a chat in an A&E waiting area, a passive aggressive parents teacher association or a chaotic pub quiz night, give me a call.

I have spent 100s of hours in focus groups listening to every type of person you can imagine, all of which resolutely failed to answer the question I asked of them.

Those focus groups were once the pain of my life, determined to give me nothing of any use for my pitch, but over time they became the heart of what I write.

I write the stuff that we recognise ourselves in, recognise our neighbours, friends and families in.
